According to verified information at the Beyond the Strand event, the Death Stranding movie will be released with an original storyline. Directed by Michael Sarnoski, this project will present a different narrative independent of the game’s main story. It has been confirmed that the game will not be adapted for the big screen; instead, new characters never seen before will be introduced to expand the Death Stranding universe.
