With an update announced by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, a new expansion is coming for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This new content will be called From the Ashes and will focus on expanding the story universe.
In the past, for the game released in December 2023, two major expansion packs called The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires were released. These packs offered the opportunity to explore different regions of the planet Pandora and added new layers to the game’s narrative. It is currently indicated that support from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment will continue.
The release date of Avatar: Fire and Ash was announced as December 19, 2025. Additionally, the French publisher stated in July that a forthcoming update would include a third-person perspective and New Game+ mode in the game. However, it seems that the innovations will not be limited to this.
With the new expansion pack called From the Ashes: So’lek Becoming, we will take on the role of So’lek in the world of Avatar. According to statements from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, this third expansion will focus on events shortly after the first Avatar film and will present us with a journey to the western border.
The expansion will center around the adventure of So’lek, an experienced Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan. Clues about a possible collaboration with RDA’s Ash clan and the disintegration of the Sarentu family will deepen the story. Some players anticipate that this pack will add melee weapons to the game and introduce a fundamental change towards close combat in gameplay. The image of the knife-wielding character at the end of the trailer is seen as an exciting sign supporting this innovation.
