Google enables Android users to reorganize their photos with the help of artificial intelligence. Desired edits can be made simply by users telling or writing what they want to do through the app. Thanks to features that facilitate editing, it becomes possible to make adjustments to the photo even without knowing where to find the relevant tool.
This innovation, powered by Gemini AI integration, was first tested on Pixel 10 series devices launched in the US in August. Tapping on “Help me edit” on the editing screen offers users the chance to describe what kind of change they want. For those who don’t know where to start initially, Gemini’s suggestions are ready; even just saying “make it better” can lead to the desired result.
Among what they can do are:
- Adjust lighting
- Remove distracting elements from the photo
- Delete objects in the background
- Restore old photos
- Add creative and fantastical elements optionally
- Fine-tune the process with additional user requests
Who can use it? This feature is currently available only in the US, for users aged 18 and over, in English. Google also integrated C2PA Content Credentials support into Google Photos to increase the verifiability of AI-edited images. This makes it easy to determine whether a photo was generated or modified by AI.
