The European Union has thoroughly cornered the US-based technology giant Apple. The company switched to USB Type-C in order to comply with the laws that came into force. In addition, users in European Union countries will now be able to download applications from third-party sources.
Apple made a new statement about the issue today. It announced that developers will be able to add third-party app stores to the App Store Connect app. With this attack, Apple will ensure the security of applications developed for iOS. The developer will be able to distribute his application as he wishes, following approval from Apple.
The security of the iOS ecosystem will continue to be ensured
Installing apps from third-party sources in the Android ecosystem has been free since day one. However, users take all risks when they download applications from sources other than the Play Store. In the iOS ecosystem, such a situation will not occur. Apple will check an app before it is released. Upon approval, it will be possible to download the application from sources other than the App Store. Moreover, developers will be able to test beta versions of their applications through the TestFlight system.
Apple also made changes to its terms of use to comply with European Union regulations. Within the scope of this regulation; The third party store will pay 0.5 euros per download. After 1 million uploads, the exact payment will need to be made again.
