EDGE, IGN, and Kotaku conducted interviews that provided previously undisclosed details about Battlefield 6. The insights shared by Creative Director Thomas Andersson and Technical Director Christian Buhl from Ripple Effect studio, along with Senior Console Combat Designer Matthew Nickerson, show how the class system has evolved since the open beta and emphasize cross-platform support and quick turnaround topics.

It was also noted that during the open beta process, significant revisions were made to the class balances for Battlefield 6. Changes especially to the Support and Assault classes aim to strengthen team play. Andersson stated that they focused on reducing the impact of the Assault class in certain areas while improving the overall performance of the team. The Recon class supports the guide, while the Assault class is designed to direct this guidance more effectively.

In the IGN interview, Technical Director Buhl and Senior Console Combat Designer Nickerson confirmed that cross-platform support in Battlefield 6 has some limitations for consoles. During matchmaking, while players share the room, after a certain period, priority is given to players on different platforms and filled with PC players when necessary. The cross-platform feature, which will be available by default, allows users to turn it off if they wish; when turned off, PlayStation and Xbox users can play together, but PC users cannot benefit from this option.

Senior Console Combat Designer Nickerson emphasized that the quick turnaround feature significantly enhances in-game mobility. Problems related to aim assist with controls complicate the universe’s movement and direction-changing dynamics; especially during running, the slowed movement and being shot from behind due to these aids negatively impact user experience. In this context, the quick turn feature called Flick Stick helped solve a series of problems and offers new flows to players. However, detailed information on the additional benefits of this feature was not provided.
