The company stated that this release is unmatched in computer usage, and that it makes significant progress in reasoning and mathematics. Dominating benchmarks, Claude Sonnet 4.5 demonstrates performance that extends its focus duration on complex tasks to 30 hours; the previous version, Opus 4, could only last 7 hours.
Enhanced computer usage Claude Sonnet 4.5 offers significant improvements over its predecessor, Sonnet 4. With the Claude for Chrome extension, users can reach a broader audience; this extension enables the AI to perform tasks on behalf of the user within applications like Google Docs or Gmail. Additionally, the model aims to be more compatible with security enhancements. The innovation called “Imagine with Claude” is currently only available in preview for Max subscribers. This tool allows instant application development from scratch without the need for written code. For example, when asked in a demo to imagine William Shakespeare’s computer, it can design an interactive computer interface in Shakespeare’s style. Triggered via a menu, this process instantly creates and runs code, shaping the application dynamically based on the user.
