Netflix’s popular Japanese series Alice in Borderland thrilled and angered viewers with its third season finale aired on September 25th. The characters Ryōhei Arisu, played by Kento Yamazaki, and Yuzuha Usagi, portrayed by Tao Tsuchiya, escaped deadly games once again, and the final scenes contained a big surprise.
The Alice in Borderland season finale drove fans crazy!
After a long wait of three years, the season, consisting of only six episodes, disappointed fans. However, the huge cliffhanger at the end tested viewers’ patience. While Arisu and pregnant Usagi returned to their normal lives and discussed baby names, earthquakes that could herald a major disaster worldwide began to occur.
The show’s new character, “Borderland’s Watcher” (Ken Watanabe), hinted that participants were actually being pulled into this universe under the influence of a much greater power, increasing curiosity. In the final scene, the story shifted from Tokyo to Los Angeles: After an earthquake measuring 4.2 magnitude, two men entered a burger shop, and the fact that the serving waiter’s name was “Alice” drew attention.
This scene directly pointed to both the show’s name and the English equivalent of the Arisu character (Alice), providing strong clues about a new international expansion or a new season.
Fans on social media commented on the show’s finale as a “pointless patience test,” while excitement for a possible Season 4 reached its peak.
