Intel today focused on the mobile platform for the first time in the Arc series and officially introduced the A300, A500 and A700 series, which will be used in laptops. The expectation for desktop video cards rather than mobile is higher, and now we have news.
The blue team showed the first desktop card in the Arc Alchemist A series, which will be released in summer 2022, along with a video. The limited edition Arc Limited Edition graphics card looks different than previously leaked photos. The final card is actually a bit similar to the prototypes of the past, but due to the ‘Limited Edition’ brand, the design has a more premium appearance.
The graphics card, which comes with dual-fan cooling, carries three DisplayPorts and a single HDMI port. Intel also confirmed that Arc Alchemist will use the latest DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.0b technologies.
Eight memory modules appear on the print circuit board, and we estimate that this card is a flagship model of 16 GB. We may even be looking at a limited version of the Arc 7 A780 graphics card.
The example on display by Intel features a dual 8-pin power connector. The illuminated Intel Arc logo on the sides is also noteworthy. Unfortunately, we do not have an exact date for the release date of the external desktop series, but we expect these cards to be released in May-June.
