The officially unannounced M5 iPad Pro has come into the spotlight for the first time through unboxing sharing by a Russian YouTuber. The video provides initial clues about the design and hardware components of Apple’s new tablet; the retention of a design similar to the previous model is noteworthy.
Observations indicate that Apple has not made significant changes in the appearance. However, there are important improvements on the internal hardware side. Compared to the M4, an increase in RAM is expected: it is projected to come with 12 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB, and for models with 1 TB storage capacity, it is not yet clear whether the RAM will be 16 GB or 24 GB. This difference is thought to promise superior performance under heavy workloads.
The new M5 chip is reported to offer approximately a 10% performance increase in single-core and a 15% increase in multi-core; improvements on the GPU side mean higher speeds for graphic processing. From a design perspective, the appearance of the M5 largely resembles the M4; the only difference is the color and texture of the USB-C cable included in the box. Instead of a white cable, a black, braided USB-C cable is now used, and this small change enhances the user experience.
The video shows how some of the new features in iPadOS 26 are reflected in usage, but it is noted that a deeper software review has not been performed. Still, the available information suggests that the M5 iPad Pro could offer faster and more efficient work environment for professional users.
