Although the eyes are currently on Marvel’s Wolverine game, the small-scale Marvel’s Venom game is gradually fading into the background. This spin-off game, which emerged in recent years, seems to still be in development.
The 2023 cyber attack on Insomniac Games revealed plans from both Sony Interactive Entertainment and the developer studio. In the leaked roadmap, we learned that we would see a Marvel’s Venom game within the 2025 fiscal year. Before that, an upcoming spin-off related to Venom was also hinted at in the in-game documents of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but this has not materialized yet. Therefore, there was curiosity about whether the game had been canceled.
Exciting Development Regarding the Marvel’s Venom Game
Recently, Redacted Guy, a well-known leaker, claimed that the development process is quite advanced. According to him, the story, combat mechanics, movement system, scenes involving Tony Todd, and dialogue recordings have all been completed.
Of course, the current silence from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games may also imply other possibilities. These include the small-scale Marvel’s Venom game being canceled after the cyber attack or delayed to 2026. A similar situation also applies to Marvel’s Wolverine. Given this, it can be said that postponement is more likely.
Since no official statement has been made at the moment, it would be most prudent to wait and see what happens. As you may recall, there is strong confidence that we will see new updates about Marvel’s Wolverine before the end of this year. The first likely candidate for an announcement is a potential State of Play broadcast scheduled for this month, and the second is The Game Awards show. We will keep following the developments.
