Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 17 event was held last night. As new models were introduced, it was expected that the company would make changes to its current product lineup, and this forecast came true. While the focus of the event was on four new iPhone models, it was observed that some devices were removed from sale in stores after the launch.
Models removed from sale: The devices no longer available in the Apple store after the event are listed as follows: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Other Apple products no longer available in stores include Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and AirPods Pro 2.
Entry-level iPhone remains in place: At the beginning of the year, the iPhone 16e, which replaced the old iPhone SE, will continue to receive updates as long as it remains a budget option.
Farewell to the iPhone 15 series: After the event, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max were taken off sale; they may still be briefly available at retailers, but they are no longer available in Apple stores.
New series and relocation: Apple generally tends to keep two standard flagship models in the lineup. In this context, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will remain on sale with a price reduction. In the new series, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will stand out.
Repositioning of the Pro models: The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be discontinued and replaced by the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. In the Pro series update, Apple does not implement a price reduction; it moves directly to the new models.
Which models are being removed? The models removed from sale after the September 9 event are listed as follows:
- iPhone 15
- iPhone 15 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
Apple ends the sale of the previous version with every new Series model. Apple Watch Ultra 2 will replace the previous Ultra model. In the AirPods lineup, the Pro 2 model may be retained; however, if a new AirPods Pro 3 is introduced, it is likely that the current model will continue to be sold at a lower price.
